Cancelled: Big Band Dance – February 8, 2020

Dear Dancers,

Unfortunately, there were not enough positive RSVP responses for attendance this Saturday evening.  There were going to be more band members than dancers.  Thanks to the couples who responded.  We appreciate your input.

As an alternative, the next dance will be April 4th, and we are making plans to make it a Senior Prom.  The details are still evolving and they will be shared as we get closer to the dance date.

If you CAN make it Feb 8 to the Big Band Dance, 7:30 pm at Stout United Methodist Church gym, please RSVP to: danceextras@suddenlink.net and let her know you are coming.  If you can’t make it, no response is needed.  Felice plans to go ahead with the dance if we have enough couples coming. 

As you probably know, Felice brings in musicians from all over WV, not just Wood County, in order to fill out the Big Band; from Logan, Glenville, Charleston, Clarksburg, Athens OH…   We never know if we will have a good turnout, and at least once a season we have a very small group.  Because preparation setup is a huge job, we are trying a new idea to help us eliminate the low attendance dances.  We ask that you RSVP by email if you will be attending the next dance, to Joyce & Steve when they send out their dance announcement email each month.  If you can’t attend the dance, no need to reply.  Only if we don’t get enough positive replies, will we cancel that dance and notify you in advance of that dance.

We hope this works well for you and for us!  If anyone has ideas to boost attendance, your help would be appreciated.
