Here’s an article I found online by Beth Sergent on mydailyregister.com

POINT PLEASANT — An organization which has brought in $8.3 million of outside money into Point Pleasant in the last 24 years is hosting its annual fundraiser to keep developing projects to benefit the community.

Main Street Point Pleasant is hosting its 19th Annual Sleighbell Ball at 8 p.m., Feb. 2 at the Moose Lodge’s main ballroom. Once again the Gary Stewart Quintet will be performing – the band has been a favorite of the Sleighbell Ball for at least the last 10 years.

Admission to the event is $30 per person. Also, to reserve a table for eight, the cost is $300. Tickets are available at Main Street Point Pleasant at 305 Main St. or from any Main Street Point Pleasant Director. This is the main fundraiser of the year for Main Street Point Pleasant.

Recently, Tim Stover, CPA, purchased the first three tables at the event. Tim and wife Sarah said they go to the ball every year for the food and dancing. In fact, the Stovers are ballroom dancers and are bringing dancing colleagues to the event which will provide even more entertainment for those attending the ball.

According to Charles Humphreys, executive director of Main Street Point Pleasant, the Sleighbell Ball has continuously grown over the years and attracts visitors from not only Mason County but surrounding areas. Funds raised at the ball help benefit the revitalization of Point Pleasant.

Despite its presence in the community for nearly 25 years, some residents are still not clear on what Main Street Point Pleasant does for the community. The organization attempts to improve numerous things around town, including several items in the Riverfront Park such as the Battle of Point Pleasant Mural on the flood wall, several statues, the 800 seat amphitheater, the 900 foot boat dock and the park’s sound system.

The organization has also been instrumental in the restoration of the A.F. Kisar (Kincaid) House on Third St. After receiving a grant to replace the slate roof, Main Street Point Pleasant received another grant last year, this one for $240,000, to revamp the home’s heating and cooling system and to install new windows.

There are also plans to develop a streetscape and various other projects to bring in more tourism but all these plans need funding which is where the Sleighbell Ball comes into play. For more information on the Sleighbell Ball call Humphreys at             304-675-3844      .
