It is time to dust off those dancing shoes and go out for a fun night on the town with the 17th Annual Sleighbell Ball.
The Main Street sponsored dance is set for 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5 at the Point Pleasant Moose Lodge. The event will feature music provided by the Gary Stewart Quintet as well as refreshments. A cash bar also will be available.
According to Charles Humphreys, executive director of Main Street Point Pleasant, all proceeds generated from the ball will benefit the Main Street organization.
“The ball is a fundraiser to revitalize downtown Point Pleasant. Let’s not only make downtown viable, let’s make it vibrant,” Humphreys said.
He added that revitalization efforts will include new shops, galleries, museums, restoration of historic homes, river front development, landscaping, street-scaping and more. In addition, funds will help to further improve and develop the Point Pleasant Riverfront Park’s history lesson murals. With the continued development of downtown, Humphreys said that the area could grow tremendously.
“We can have one of the best communities in the state of West Virginia,” he said.
Humphreys encouraged residents to attend the ball and enjoy an evening with their friends and neighbors.
“Come out for food, rock n’ roll, ballroom dancing and a lot of fun,” he said.
Sleighbell Ball tickets can be purchased at the door. Tickets are $30 per person.
