Ballroom Dances Dec 4th – 5th!

There is a lot going on this weekend – hopefully you can fit in one of the dances in the area!

Saturday night, River Cities Ballroom Dance Club is presenting its second dance of the 2010/2011 season with the  Gary Stewart Quintet this Saturday, December 4th from 8:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.   The new location at the Marietta County Club provides a real wood dance floor.  The Guest fee is $60 per couple with reservations, and will be applied to your membership if you decide to join the Club!  Hors d’oeuvres will be provided by the Club.  A cash bar is available.   For reservations e-mail Sue Montera at suemontera@suddenlink.net OR Clint Holley at clintonholley@suddenlink.net.

Also on Saturday, Dec 4th starting at 7 pm, the Camden-Clark Foundation Charity Gala will be  held at the Parkersburg Country Club 4910 First Avenue Vienna, WV 26102.  Music will be provided by the Smoot Theatre Big Band.  I have no idea how they are to dance too, but wouldn’t it be fun to show up and add some dancers to the event!  The theme is “Christmas in the Big Apple” with a taste of New York cuisine and a complimientary signature drink.  Heavy Hors D’oeuvres and Dancing.  Silent Auction, prizes.  Black Tie Optional  $75 [per person.  For more info, call Kim Couch at 304-422-2200 or email kcouch@ccmh.org

Also on Saturday from 7 – 11 pm, the MOV Shaggers are holding their Christmas Party at the Worthington Golf Clubhouse Roseland Avenue, Parkersburg, WV 26101  $5 per guest – EVERYONE is welcome. SUNDAY Dec 5th noon – 3!  BIG BAND BRUNCH and Dance lessons!  The Big Band will be playing at the Six Pence Pub in Parkersburg.  Not only will you enjoy great food for $10/person, but you’ll have the opportunity to practice your dance moves to Live Music with a BIG BAND sound.

COME EARLY to the Big Band Brunch on Sunday Dec 4th at 11 am for Dance Lessons with Carrie Harris! She had outstanding reviews from the lessons she gave last month before the big band.  Lessons are $10/person.  Carrie is a graduate of Walnut Hill School for Performing Arts and a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University with honors in dance.  She has been a ballroom instructor on dance cruises for the past decade!  She is originally from Columbus and is a USA level professional competition ballroom dancer and instructor.
