4 Week Program Description with Abbie Calvin
Introduces Basic Elements of the 6 main ballroom dances, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Swing, Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango. Since it is an introductory class I will be teaching the importance of partnership, how to maintain a dance frame, and basics of floorcraft. I have four weeks; therefore I will teach two dances an evening, but only the basic pattern. This class is for beginners, I will set them up for success by giving new information in small bites- I want them to feel confident that they indeed can ballroom dance.

Class description for the 6 week program with Peter Ianniciello

Introduction to proper posture, dance movement, lead/follow technique with application to the waltz, foxtrot and rumba. This will provide a framework for a second six-week program oriented toward swing and cha cha. The third six-week program is an introduction of intermediate patterns to the dances previously learned based on the fundamentals established in the previous classes. Tango, quickstep, and Viennese waltz will be taught as separate classes due to the demanding fundamentals of these dances.
Students should approach the class with the program expectation of 100% attendance, make-up classes are not provided. Each class begins with a quick review of the previous class so the students do have some opportunity to “catch up” at each class. Some have found a private lesson to be helpful even if they have attended 100% of the classes.

Peter is available for private lessons most weekdays and weekday evenings with some availability on weekends. “Wedding Dance Lessons” are offered for couples and their families.
